Police tackle drug use at Royal Wootton Bassett property A partial closure order was authorised for an address in Royal Wootton Bassett in a bid to tackle drug activity this week. The order was authorised at Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (June 25) for the Cloatley Close address, and it will remain in place for three months. The order means that only the occupant of the address are allowed to enter the premises – anyone else other than the occupant, the council, or the emergency services who enters the address will be committing an offence and may be arrested. Sgt Kate Smith, of the Royal Wootton Bassett Community Policing Team, said: We hope this will ensure the safety of not only the occupant but of the wider community and address any local tensions.
