Permanent repairs are to be carried out to a dangerous pothole on a busy road outside Stoke-on-Trent s main hospital.
The defect - on Hilton Road, in Hartshill - was 1.2 metres long, half-a-metre wide, and 17cm deep when it was measured last week.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has since carried out a temporary repair after being alerted to the issue.

A woman has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a tree.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Whitehurst Lane, Dilhorne, at around 6.25pm yesterday following the collision involving an Audi.
Paramedics attended and treated the 26-year-old for a leg injury before conveying her to the Royal Stoke for further treatment.
