Singapore: The Goh Keng Swee Foundation, established by Dr Phua Swee
Liang in 2008 to perpetuate the values of her late husband, today announced a gift of S$1.2
million to the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine) in support of financially
disadvantaged medical students.
The gift was announced on the 11th death anniversary of Dr Goh, who passed away on 14
May 2010 at the age of 91 after years of ill health, during which he was nursed by Dr Phua.
The late Dr Goh served alongside Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, holding
Cabinet appointments as Deputy Prime Minister, as well as helming the finance and defence

India Grid Trust (IndiGrid), an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT), which had raised ₹1,000 crore through a public issue of non-convertible debentures (NCD) last week, is set to list it on both BSE and NSE on Monday.
The country’s first power sector InVIT, which was backed by global investors such as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co and Government Of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), had opened the issue for subscription on April 28 and closed on April 30, ahead of schedule close of May 5.
IndiGrid owns assets worth ₹20,000 crore in 13 power transmission assets located across 17 States and one Union Territory.

Singapore The Progress Singapore Party’s (PSP) Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) Leong Mun Wai spoke about the future of the Singapore economy, and the challenges facing it, in a Zoom seminar on Saturday (Apr 17). It was hosted by Future Of Singapore, a non-partisan internet research and discussion forum.
Speaking about the future economy of Singapore, Mr Leong linked it to his experience in Japan during the 1980 and 1990s. He was awarded an Overseas Merit Scholarship by the Singapore Government in 1979 to study Economics in Hitotsubashi University in Japan. Currently the CEO of own private equity firm, Timbre Capital, he began his career with the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation in 1986 and subsequently worked with global investments in Tokyo, London and Hong Kong.
