The capital state has announced a lockdown till April 26 in the wake of COVID19 second wave. Reminding the Delhi Government of the plight of migrants and daily wagers during the 2020 lockdown, the High Court urged it to take adequate steps to avoid the repeat of the same this year.

Kejriwal said that Delhi recorded over 25,000 daily COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours. He further informed that less than 100 ICU beds are vacant in Delhi hospitals. New Delhi: In order to tackle the rising COVID-19 cases, the Delhi government on Sunday (April 18) requested the railways to furnish 5,000 beds by deploying COVID-care coaches at the Shakur Basti and the Anand Vihar stations, while also identifying other such facilities.  In a letter to Railway Board Chairman Suneet Sharma, Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev apprised Sharma of the dire COVID-19 situation and the dearth of hospital beds in the city.

Delhi HC dismisses petition seeking postponement of DSGMC elections amid rising COVID-19 infections ANI | Updated: Apr 14, 2021 16:59 IST New Delhi [India], April 14 (ANI): The DelhiHigh Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking postponement of the elections of the members of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in view of the recent unprecedented spike of coronavirus cases in the national capital. A division bench of Justices Rajiv Sahai Endlaw and Amit Bansal dismissed the petition filed by Jagmohan Singh and Manjeet Singh Chugh. There is no merit in the petition. Dismissed, the court said. Jagmohan Singh and Manjeet Singh Chugh are voters in the Voters List maintained by the Directorate of Gurdwara Elections, a body under the respondent Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) and responsible for the conduct of elections of the members of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
