Prosecutors Association seeks direction from Delhi HC to transfer charge sheet scrutiny from prosecutors to legal division of police ANI | Updated: Feb 15, 2021 21:24 IST
New Delhi [India], February 15 (ANI): Delhi Prosecutors Welfare Association on Monday urged the Delhi High Court to issue directions to the Delhi government to transfer the work of scrutiny of charge sheets from the public prosecutors to the legal division of the Delhi Police.
Appearing for Delhi Government, standing counsel Sanjoy Ghose told a single-judge bench of Justice Prathiba M Singh that similar issues are being heard by a division bench. He also urged the single-judge bench court to send this matter to the division bench of the Delhi High Court.

Non-availability of funds cannot be accepted as excuse for untimely payment of salaries, says Delhi HC on MCD funds ANI | Updated: Jan 20, 2021 14:13 IST
New Delhi [India], January 20 (ANI): Delhi High Court, while hearing the batch of petitions in relation to non-payment of salaries and pensions to the employees of municipal Corporations, said that non-availability of funds cannot be and shall not be accepted by the Court as an excuse for untimely payment of salaries on Wednesday.
The Court has also directed the Municipal Corporations to place the different heads of expenditure in respect to the Municipal Councillors, Class-I officers and Class-II officers. The amounts incurred in providing perks to them should be clearly disclosed under each specific head.
