Over 20 Chibok parents died awaiting their girls, says BBOG

Community laments delay in release of remaining 112 Over 20 parents of the secondary school girls abducted seven years ago in Chibok, Borno State, have died from health complications induced by the protracted wait for the return of their children.  Strategic team member of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group, Allen Manasseh, stated this in a chat with Arise TV yesterday. On April 4, 2014, over 300 girls were taken captive from Government Secondary School in Chibok by Boko Haram. Till date, 112 of the girls are still missing. Manasseh accused the government of doing the minimum to address the concerns of the parents, demanding that the matter be moved to the office of the vice president.

Seven years after, the world remembers Chibok Girls, renews calls for their release

Daily Post Nigeria Published Wednesday 14th of April, 2021 marked the seventh year anniversary of the abduction of the 276 students of the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in North-East Nigeria. And in what has become an annual ritual, the world spared them a moment, especially the remaining 112 of them in the captivity of the violent Boko Haram insurgents. On the chilling night of April 14, 2014, the insurgents invaded the GGSS, Chibok, in what still remains a mystery, carting 276 students. It was at first, a tale to many people, those who felt it was practically impossible to herd 276 human beings together in such an illegal operation and railroad them into captivity. However, reality dawned that the students, all girls, who were preparing for the West African School Certificate Examination, have indeed been abducted by the murderous criminal elements.
