Opposition MPs are concerned about corruption at GEMS after alleged

Opposition MPs expressed their concern about corruption at the
Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS) after News24 exclusively revealed
allegations of tender rigging, fraud, corruption and maladministration valued
at more than R300 million.

GEMS, which is positioning itself to administer the National Health Insurance, has been rocked by allegations of tender rigging, fraud, maladministration and corruption totalling more than R300 million.

Across the board, private healthcare providers felt the brunt of the pandemic in the first half of 2020, with operating profits falling by 35% to 86%.
