Analysis in Government month is fast approaching. This article explores how the Department for International Trade (DIT) are planning to mark the month within their department.
Please think about what you could do within your department to celebrate Analysis in Government Month.
The Best Practice and Impact Team (BPI) at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) are coordinating events across the Government Analysis Function in May to raise awareness of the function, promoting the work that we do and bringing people together across the community.

Analysis across government is being used more than ever in policy, decision making and the media, and there has been so much fantastic work across the Analysis Function that is worthy of sharing and celebrating. Because of this, we have planned a full month of activities and broad engagement across government and beyond!
Remember that all analysts within government are members of the Government Analysis Function and part of this event is about connecting with fellow analysts and finding out more about your role within the function.
If you are not an analyst, you are still very welcome to come along, we have a really diverse line-up of content so there is hopefully something for everyone! Let’s find out what’s on offer throughout the month, shall we?

Government analysis has always been so important, but the last year has truly highlighted this.
I am in awe of how, as a community, the UK’s analysts have risen to the challenges presented by the pandemic. I am extremely proud of what analysts across government have achieved and how everyone has helped highlight the importance of analysis in shaping our future. A true demonstration of what we can achieve when we work together.
After the year we have all had, connecting with other colleagues and reaching out to new colleagues is more important than ever which is why I am highlighting the first Analysis in Government month in May 2021. It is going to be a fantastic event and a real opportunity to shine a light on the importance and relevance of analysis today.
