JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Apr 8: With no let up in renewed surge in Coronavirus cases, the Jammu and Kashmir Government today ordered imposition of night curfew in eight districts of the Union Territory from tomorrow while the Health Department and GMC Jammu authorities suspended leave of all employees and the district administration Jammu terminated permissions granted for holding exhibitions and fairs and converted area in and around GGM Science College and Sanskrit University into micro-Containment Zones.

JAMMU, Mar 9: At a time when even Government primary health centres and small private nursing homes have basic laboratory tests facility, there is no such facility available in Chest Disease (CD) Hospital Jammu as the only laboratory of the Hospital has been lying closed for last more than one year.
Official sources told Excelsior that following outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in the Union Territory in February last year, all except one technician of the only laboratory of the Hospital was shifted to Microbiology Laboratory of Government Medical College Jammu in the month of April to help Microbiology Department in terms of manpower to conduct RTPCR based COVID testing.
Jammu: Department of ENT, Government Medical College Jammu has been upgraded with state of the art instruments for Navigation system (Image guided system) and Motor nerve monitor enabled surgery.
The first two surgeries using navigation system and nerve monitor were performed on 19 February 2021, under the patronage of Principal and Dean Dr Shashi Sudan Sharma.
In the first surgery a 23 year old male patient, diagnosed with left sphenoidal polyp and maxillary sinusitis underwent FESS (functional endoscopic sinus surgery) using navigation/ image guided system. Radiological assistance (in shape of CT scan performed in a special configuration of less than 1mm navigation compatible axial, coronal and saggital cuts) was provided by Deptt of Radiodiagnosis under supervision of Dr Kulbushan Gupta (HOD).
