CBO announces auction results of 67th GDB issue

Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced the auction results of the 67th Government Development Bonds (GDB) issue worth OMR300 million.
According to a media release issued by CBO’s Monetary Operations Department, the 67th GDB Issue, which received an overwhelming response from investors, has received applications in excess of over OMR61.841 million at OMR361.841 million, as against the issue value of OMR300 million.
The average yield was 5.15 per cent at an equivalent price of OMR102.035, while the highest yield was 5.34 per cent at an equivalent price of OMR100.925 and the lowest was at 4.88 per cent at an equivalent price of OMR103.640.

Muscat: Data issued by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) indicated that the total deposits held with ODCs (other depository corporations) reached OMR24.3 billion at the end of December 2020, increasing by 2.9 per cent from December 2019. Meanwhile, total private sector deposits increased by 10.5 per cent to OMR16.8 billion.
As per the preliminary data released by National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), Oman’s nominal GDP showed a decline of 16.5 per cent during the third quarter of 2020 over the same period of the year 2019. The contraction was driven by a 24.4 per cent decline in the hydrocarbon sector coupled with the decline in the non-hydrocarbon sector by 12.4 per cent during the third quarter of 2020.
