Rela Hospital inaugurates renal disorder support group
The TANKER Foundation inaugurated three dialysis machines at its Thiruverkadu, Ambattur and Nungambakkam units this week.
According to a press release, the machines were donated by Essvee Foundation and RANE Group. Speaking on the occasion, Georgi Abraham, founder-trustee of TANKER Foundation, said as kidney diseases were on the rise, donations like these were deeply appreciated.

AAA The Government Stanley Medical College Hospital celebrated Women’s Day by honouring women professors in the General Medicine department for their exemplary work in preventing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials from the Directorate of Medical Education, the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwife Council, the Vice-Principal of Stanley Medical College, besides dignitaries from different walks of life participated in the event. The theme for 2021 is “Choose to Challenge”. Hospital authorities said women head 14 departments in the institution.

Hospital has catered for more than 32,500 patients with COVID-19 The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory of the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital performed 1,602 angiography and angioplasty procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lab functioned uninterrupted during the pandemic, and all patients were screened for COVID-19 before the procedure. A total of 5,043 cardiac intervention procedures have so far been performed at the lab, which was started in 2018. The 5,000th procedure was performed on February 16, hospital dean P. Balaji said in a press release.
