These updates are republished press releases and communications from members of the Science|Business Network GÉANT and AfricaConnect: Celebrating 10 years of African European collaboration On May 11th 2021, 10 years after the start of the first phase of AfricaConnect, we celebrate the achievements and get ready for the next steps. In 2010, representatives from the European Union, African Ministries, the African-Caribbean-Pacific Secretariat, the African Union, as well as African and European National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) met in Brussels for the Feasibility Study on the AfricaConnect Initiative (FEAST) workshop. The FEAST Study had explored the modernisation and development of research and education (R&E) in Sub-Saharan countries by providing access to the global research and education network infrastructure. It laid out the foundations of the EU co-funded AfricaConnect project.
