Arizona tied for the top slot in personal income growth comparing 2020 over 2019. Both Arizona and Montana reported an 8.4 percent hike, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

In February, Greater Phoenix gained 13,400 jobs over January 2021, putting the workforce within 3.6 percent of February 2020 s employment totals. The Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity pegged the metro workforce during the month at just 3.6 percent fewer hires than 2020 s last pre-pandemic month. Pandemic layoffs began late in March 2020, with April and May showing the worst of the year s employment situation.
The employment and personal income numbers are showing signs of economic strengthening in Arizona. The data set trajectory puts the state on a path that could equal or exceed pre-pandemic hiring this month. The data released on April 21 will tell the tale.

PHOENIX - More good news for Arizona’s economic future, as the state expected to regain the jobs that were lost during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The bad news, however, is that it is going to take Arizona another year to get there.
Number crunchers at the state came out with the latest jobs report this week, looking at everything from historical data to the more recent vaccine rollout.

PHOENIX A new report released by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity is projecting strong job growth in the state over the next two years, with the largest gains happening in sectors hit hardest by the pandemic.
“Arizona is a place where opportunities are plentiful and jobs are growing,” said Governor Doug Ducey. “Families and businesses from across the nation continue to choose Arizona, and it’s resulting in greater employment opportunities for existing residents and newcomers. Arizona is resilient and these job projections prove it.”
According to the report, Arizona is expected to gain more than 325,000 jobs between spring 2020 and the same time next year, a 5.5 percent annualized growth rate. The report predicts job growth in all 15 counties and all sectors excluding government.
