Health experts said in a report released by the government on Wednesday that the U.S. toll from COVID-19 will fall sharply by the end of July, although there could be a substantial increase if unvaccinated people don t continue taking basic precautions like wearing masks. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention paper said that even if slowing vaccination rates reach disappointing levels, new infections, hospitalizations, and deaths should drop significantly through July, and keep falling after that.
