Arizona gets $65.8 million from CDC to expand local vaccine efforts Arizona is getting a $65.8 million boost to help more people get the COVID-19 vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Tuesday. The money is meant to supplement local work at increasing vaccine uptake and improving equity and access for those disproportionately impacted by the virus. The funding is  from a pool of $3 billion being awarded to 64 jurisdictions, including Arizona. It comes from the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan signed earlier this year by President Joe Biden and by the $908 billion Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act signed into law by former President Donald Trump on Dec. 27.
