California Siblings Arraigned in $1.4M Workers’ Comp Scheme April 16, 2021
California farm labor company owners and siblings Elias Perez, 40, of Greenfield, and Alejandra Perez, 37, of Soledad, were arraigned on over 20 felony counts of insurance and tax fraud after allegedly underreporting payroll by over $17 million resulting in a loss of over $1.42 million to their insurance companies.
The California Department of Insurance discovered the alleged fraud after learning that an injured employee was treated out of a garage by an unlicensed professional.
The Perezes are owners of farm labor contracting companies in Greenfield called PFL Contracting Inc., Future Ag Management Inc. and Future Harvesters and Packers Inc., which primarily hire farm labor employees to harvest crops.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) -Even as Arizona fully reopens, some employers are having a hard time hiring.
The calls keep coming in at Avid Home Care near Prince Road and I-10. Seniors and those living with disabilities are seeking caregivers to help them stay in their homes, however, help is limited.
âWeâve continued to get more calls during the pandemic, we are protecting the most vulnerable population from this virus,â said owner, Vanessa McCally. âI turned two people down today. I had to say ânoâ because I didnât have enough people to help them.â

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) partners up with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) to reserve appointments at vaccination sites for people with disabilities.
DES says the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) will contact eligible members this week to inform them of available appointment slots.
“We are grateful for ADHS’s partnership in expanding opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine,” said DES Director Michael Wisehart. “DDD has been integral in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of its members throughout the pandemic, and we will continue to partner with ADHS and community stakeholders to raise awareness and provide support to members in need of the vaccine.”

PHOENIX Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) today announced a new targeted effort to ensure individuals with disabilities have quick, easy access to COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
Arizona is partnering with Ability360 and The Arc, organizations that empower individuals with disabilities and support their full inclusion in the community, and the Special Olympics to hold vaccination events at their locations. These vaccination events will allow those living with disabilities and their families to be vaccinated at familiar locations.
“Now that all Arizonans have the opportunity to get the vaccine, we want to ease the process for those with disabilities to sign up for an appointment and get vaccinated,” said Governor Ducey. “I’m grateful to Ability360, The Arc, Special Olympics, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, ADHS, and all the organizations across the state working hard to protect Arizonans
