North Bay police have charged a young person with arson after a grass fire was set in the 2000 block of Main Street W. Thursday evening.
Police responded to the fire at approximately 7:40 p.m. and North Bay Fire and Emergency Services members were able to extinguish the blaze.

A statement from police says they were able to identify the accused after an investigation and with assistance from members of the public.
The accused, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has since been charged with arson – damage to property.

North Bay police seized more than $156,000 worth of illicit drugs following the execution of a search warrant at a West Ferris home.
Members of the North Bay Police Service executed a search warrant Wednesday at around 3:30 p.m. at a residence in the 300 block of Mulligan Street.

Police seized more than $156,000 worth of suspected fentanyl and cocaine from the residence. Three male individuals located within the residence also were arrested and charged.
