Dr. Segna retired in 2017 from a career as a practicing veterinarian, association executive, and community college educator. Before retiring, he was the assistant executive director of the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMS), an 8,000-member professional organization.
Dr. Segna was a leader of the CVMA legislative team, oversaw membership services, the regulatory and compliance department, student programs, and the association websites. He worked with state legislators and regulatory agencies, representing the interest of the veterinary profession.
