New York-based experimental artist Tam Ochiai showcases a portfolio of works created over the past 25 years in this lively and diverse exhibition. Born in Japan, Ochiai is well known for his drawings featuring childlike depictions of female forms. “Tapetum Lucidum” highlights the surprising diversity of the artist’s mediums, which include mixed-media works such as “Ashtray Sculpture Guitar List” (2017), paintings, drawings, installations, videos and more.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo is presenting the world’s first retrospective exhibition of art director, designer and costume creator Eiko Ishioka’s, 1938-2012, work. Spanning from her early ad campaign work for the likes of Shisedo where she established herself, to her costume designs for Hollywood film, theater, circus and the Olympic Games, the exhibition offers a survey of the life and works of Ishioka.
Costs: ¥1,800 for adults, ¥1,000 for college students and those over 65, ¥700 for high school and junior high school students, free for elementary school students and younger.
