In recent days Ontario Northland began the demolition of the historic Swastika train station. Company officials say “the demolition of the structure is essential due to safety concerns.”

Now that the District of Timiskaming has moved back into the Green level of the current COVID-19 Framework, Town of Kirkland Lake Officials has announced changes to the level of municipal services it provides to residents.
At Tuesday night’s regular meeting of Town Council Director of Community Services Bonnie Sackrider stated municipal offices are now open to the public for regular business.

In her presentation to council Sackrider said “Town Hall is open for payment of tax bills and water bills from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Public Works and Development Services recommend an appointment is made prior to visiting.
