Governor JB Pritzker has named a new Chair of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum Board. Gary Johnson will take over the role effective immediately.
Johnson is a former lawyer and also spent 15 years as President of the Chicago History Museum. He called it an important time for the ALPLM.
“It has accomplished so much for both Springfield and the nation. At the time of its anniversary, we look ahead to making it become even more relevant in our national dialogues, Johnson was quoted in a news release announcing his selection.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Former Illinois congressman and U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has resigned as chairman of the board of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, officials announced Monday.
