Ranchi: The state government has issued detailed guidelines to all deputy commissioners (DC) of 24 districts for effective management of the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly the predicted third wave, by engaging NGOs and civil society organisations (CSOs).
For the purpose, the government has asked the 24 districts to form “GO-CSO Coordinating Committees” for the operation titled “Mission Kartavya” to fight the pandemic.
In a letter sent to the DCs, additional chief secretary (health) Arun Kumar Singh said the committees of the state and the civil society organisations formed last year under the aegis of Unicef as its nodal agency performed well in preventing the spread of the pandemic and they should be rejuvenated with a clear mandate.
Jharkhand on Saturday launched five mobile RT-PCR testing laboratories to intensify Covid-19 testing across five highly populated and Covid-affected districts as a part of its “five-pronged strategy for containment of Covid-19”, which aims at testing, tracking, isolating, treating and vaccinating residents.
With the launch of these mobile vans, Jharkhand became the fourth Indian state to use mobile RT-PCR testing laboratories. So far, such labs were being used in Maharashtra, New Delhi and Karnataka, health officials said.

On the basis of the current positivity rate of infection and population density, the state has launched the mobile RT-PCR lab facility in Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Palamu and Hazaribag.
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Rural Health Mission in association with the Delhi-based JITM Skills Pvt Ltd launched five mobile RT-PCR test laboratories in the state on Saturday. Additional chief secretary (health0 Arun Kumar Singh flagged off the mobile laboratories which will be deployed in five districts Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Palamu and Hazaribag – since the positivity rate is higher or the population density is more in those areas.
The mobile laboratories, approved by ICMR and the National Accreditation Board for Laboratories, have a capacity to test 1,000-1,500 samples per day. The mobile labs would cover an area within 35km radius of the district headquarters and also test samples collected from far-off areas of the five districts.

Ranchi: To ensure a hassle-free inoculation of beneficiaries at Covid vaccination centres (CVCs), the state health department has directed the vaccinators and verifiers to track details of those who received their first dose if their names do not appear on the search engine for administering the second dose.
The department has also appealed to people to report any grievance related to their registration on the Union health ministry helpline numbers within 24 hours.
Talking to TOI, additional chief secretary (health) Arun Kumar Singh said, “We already have a system in place to identify people who turn up at CVCs for their second dose and complained that their registration isn’t reflecting on the Co-WIN portal. Our verifiers and vaccinators have been trained to track such details and no one will face any trouble.”
