Hanoi (VNA) -
Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Vietnam s Permanent
Representative to the UN, on March 3 called on the government and relevant
sides in South Sudan to accelerate the transitional process and take effective
measures to handle violence among communities.
Speaking at an online meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC),
the ambassador spoke highly of positive developments in South Sudan given
difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, flood and food insecurity.
He hailed the role of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), neighbouring
countries and regional organisations in promoting the peace process and

New York (VNA) – The 13th National Congress of the
Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) marked a turning point
helping Vietnam enter a new period of socialism.
The view was shared by US activist
Professor Ngo Thanh Nhan, coordinators of an organisation mobilising aid and
responsibility for Vietnamese Agent Orange (
AO)/dioxin victims in the US,
during an interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) s reporters in New York on February 3.
Ratner said over the past five years, Vietnam has made
breakthroughs in development with many economic achievements and basically
overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vietnam reports four imported COVID-19 cases on December 12
Four new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on December 12, all Vietnamese citizens returning from abroad and being quarantined, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Of the newly-detected patients, one arrived from UAE on flight VN88 which landed at Cam Ranh airport on December 8, and another returned from Russia on flight VN5062 which landed at Da Nang airport on December 6. They are being treated at the General Hospital of Phu Yen province, and Lung Hospital in Da Nang city, respectively.
