KASUR: Unannounced load-shedding in Kasur and its vicinity reached its peak exceeding 14 hours. After every two to three hours a power outage is going on amid people’s plights in the shape of extreme heat, spoiling of food stuff in the refrigerators and water shortage. The traders, political, social, welfare and civic organizations have demanded immediate notice by WAPDA Chairman and Federal Minister for Water and Power. As Eid holidays came to an end and business centers reopened, power outages started disrupting all business activities. The hard hit areas are: City Sub Division, Bale Shah Sub Division, Civil Area, Sheikh Bhago Feeder and other sub-division areas of Kot Fatehuddin Khan, Jinnah Colony, Kot Azam Khan, Kot Haleem Khan, Kot Maulvi Abdul Qadir, Kot Aligarh, Old Lari Ada, Khara Road, Kot Badha, Haji Farid Road, Khara Road, Railway Road, Wheat Market, Kot Usman Khan, Sarafan Bazaar, Urdu Bazaar, Lahore Gate, Bhasarpura, Raknpura, Basti Sabri, Kot Ghulam M

RAWALPINDI: Polling for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections concluded in the twin cities on Sunday, with verbal clashes between PML-N and PTI workers reported in some polling stations.
In the AJK Legislative Assembly, three Valley and Jammu constituencies fall in the twin cities and Rawalpindi Division and six in different districts of the province, including Lahore.
Despite the hot weather, polling started on time and ended at 5pm. Voters remained active in PML-N, PPP and PTI camps in different areas especially in the city and cantonment areas. Strict security measures had been adopted for smooth polling in the garrison city.
