“49ers Let’s Go to Work!!” Hurst wrote on Twitter. “This defense is about to go crazy!! Time to eat!”
Although Hurst, a 2018 fifth-round pick, played a career-low 25% of defensive snaps in 2020, his release by the Raiders was a surprise. The 6-foot-2, 292-pounder has 76 career tackles, eight sacks, two fumble recoveries and an interception in three seasons. His best season came as a rookie, when he recorded a career-high 31 tackles and four sacks.
