PM Modi To Inaugurate Dedicated Freight Corridor Section (FILE) New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the New Bhaupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor on December 29 via video conferencing. The Prime Minister s Office (PMO) said he will also inaugurate the EDFC s operation control centre at Prayagraj during the event. The 351-km New Bhaupur-New Khurja section of the EDFC is situated in Uttar Pradesh and has been built at a cost of Rs 5,750 crore, it said. The section will open new vistas of opportunity for local industries such as aluminium industry in Pukhrayan region of Kanpur Dehat, dairy sector of Auraiya, textile production and block printing of Etawah, glassware industry of Firozabad, pottery products of Khurja, asafoetida or hing production of Hathras, and locks and hardware of Aligarh district, it added.

Representative Image GREATER NOIDA: The GB Nagar district administration recently issued a notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act for constructing six railway over bridges in Dadri and Dankaur villages. The administration had to opt for the provisions of the Act as it failed to purchase land directly from the villagers of Astauli, Maycha, Rithori, Ajayabpur, Ramgarh and Bodaki villages. A total of 55 chunks spanning over 4.24 hectares are needed for construction of the bridges for Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Gautam Budh Nagar university will also carry out a social impact assessment (SIA) study and will be paid Rs 2.65 crore for the same. The university will also examine the impact of the freight corridors in Dadri and Bodaki villages.

Piyush Goyal GREATER NOIDA: Unable to cut ice with the local administration, railway minister Piyush Goyal has been forced to approach UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath to fast-track the dedicated freight corridor (DFC) project of the central government. In his letter to the CM, the minister has raised eight major issues that have stalled the progress of the project, with a 1,000km span in the state. Four of those pertain to hindrances in getting physical possession of land in Gautam Budh Nagar. Being executed by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited, the special purpose vehicle established at the behest of the Union railways ministry, the inauguration of the corridor is getting delayed owing to the pending issues. Sources said that PM Narendra Modi will preside over the inauguration ceremony.

Trial run on 343 km DFCC s Bahupur-Khurja section successful ​ By IANS | Published on ​ Thu, Dec 17 2020 17:51 IST | ​ 7 Views   New Delhi, Dec 17 : The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) conducted successful trial runs of two fully-loaded freight trains on the 343 km long Bhaupur-Khurja section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) at a speed of 100 kmph. The trial run was done on December 11. The trains were remotely flagged-off from both Khurja and Bhaupur by DFCCIL s outgoing MD R.N Singh along with newly-appointed MD Ravindra Kumar Jain in presence of Alstom India and South Asia MD Alain Spohr, and other Directors of DFCCIL.
