FUNDING has been awarded to a programme aimed at getting young people in Bolton and across the city-region into STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects. The Greater Manchester Combined Authority have given £50k to the STEM Reboot programme, which will see booster kits being distributed by the Science and Industry Museum across all 10 boroughs. Contained in the kits are activities designed for young people aged seven to 14. They will be delivered via libraries, community groups, schools and the museum itself. Councillor Sean Fielding, GMCA lead for works and skills, said: “Despite the ongoing pandemic, the future of Greater Manchester holds great opportunities for Science Technology Engineering and Maths - from our strong pipeline of construction and infrastructure, to our world leading strengths in advanced manufacturing and materials.
