REYNOSA, Mexico In March, US border authorities took 18,890 unaccompanied immigrant children from Central America into custody, the largest monthly figure on record but advocates said the number is driven in part by Trump-era policies that the Biden administration has kept in place. Single adults made up about 58% of all undocumented immigrants encountered at the border, and the vast majority of them were expelled, senior administration officials said.
