The state of Idaho has created a new COVID-19 vaccine appointment pre-registration system to help alleviate the frustration of many Idahoans in trying to make an appointment to get the vaccine.
The pre-registration system allows Idahoans to add their names to one waiting list regardless of when they are eligible to get the vaccine. They will be contacted by an enrolled COVID-19 vaccine provider when it is their turn and when the provider has appointments and vaccine available.
Idahoans will no longer have to repeatedly check websites or call different providers looking for an appointment. They simply sign up and wait for an enrolled vaccine provider to contact them.

Governor Brad Little will seek to increase the number of available Idaho National Guard personnel from 250 to 400 guardsmen later this week to aid in Idaho’s pandemic response – specifically to assist in vaccine distribution.
Governor Little also announced the State of Idaho will offer healthcare providers new grants to more quickly administer the COVID-19 vaccine across the state.
The new COVID-19 Vaccine Capacity, Safety, and Reporting Grants can be used by enrolled vaccine provider organizations to increase staffing to administer shots, purchase needed equipment and supplies, and improve vaccine access for hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations.
The amount each enrolled healthcare vaccine provider will receive is based on the number of doses they administer.

Governor Brad Little has announced he is directing the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to carry out weekly virtual press briefings regarding the COVID-19 vaccine.
Little says the public has many questions with regard to vaccine distribution and the goal of the weekly briefings is to give Idahoans as much up to date information as possible for when the vaccine will be available to them.
The first virtual COVID-19 vaccine press briefing will be Jan. 5th. Media will be able to ask questions and the public can listen and view online. Details about the weekly press briefings, including time and participation details will be shared by the department prior to each briefing. (Office of Idaho Governor Brad Little)
