Mr Sanwo-Olu handed over the title documents to chairpersons of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) at an elaborate event organised to commemorate Workers’ Day. The event, with the theme: “COVID-19 Pandemic, Social and Economic Crises: Challenges for Jobs, Social Protection and Peoples’ Welfare”, was held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, in the heart of Lagos. The two housing schemes will be built by the labour unions with funds from Federal Mortgage Bank. The Ministry of Housing will supervise the project.

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) –  The Lagos State Government  has  handed over the amputee sachet water hawker, Mary Daniel, to leaders of Igala Community in Lagos State. Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Special Adviser to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Civic Engagement, said that the state government would continue to protect all residents in the state, especially the vulnerable. Adebowale made this known in a statement signed by Mr Sola Ogunmosunle, Director, Public Affairs Department, Office of Civic Engagement, on Thursday in Lagos. African Examiner reports that 27-years-old Daniel, whose story has gone viral  particularly on social media, had been in the safe custody of the state government for the past two weeks.
