An agreement signed on August 6 this year for the partial demarcation of maritime boundaries between Greece and Egypt was posted on the United Nation’s Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea on Thursday, by the organisation’s Office of Legal Affairs.
The deal designates an exclusive economic zone in the eastern Mediterranean, which in turn gives the two countries rights over natural resources in the region.
Greek diplomatic sources said that the importance of this action lies in the speed with which it happened and the fact that the President of the U.N. General Assembly is Volkan Bozkır, a Turkish national.

As Greek diplomatic sources said, the importance of this action lies in the speed with which it happened and in the fact that the President of the UN General Assembly is Volkan Bozkir, a Turkish national.
The same sources said that registering the deal with the UN, in combination with the delayed listing of an accord signed between Turkey and the internationally recognized government of Libya in November 2019, is the result of the efforts of Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, who is in regular contact with the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.

Leadership and Administration
UC Riverside’s administrative organizational structure features a Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor and six Vice Chancellors whose offices oversee specific areas and who report directly to the Chancellor.
UCR s Chancellor Kim A. Wilcox was appointed UC Riverside’s ninth chancellor in August 2013 and is responsible for developing and executing UCR’s strategic vision and goals by his team, in concert with the UC Office of the President, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, campus leadership, as well as key external stakeholders.
The Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, Thomas M. Smith, is responsible for managing the daily campus operations, developing academic and administrative policies. The office works closely with the Chancellor, the chair of the Academic Senate, and the deans of UCR s colleges, schools, and divisions to formulate and realize campus goals.
