Public Health started to look for a new isolation facility “in response to the widespread ant infestation at the isolation facility,” the order stated. Another resident, Anton Douwes, 83, asked the governor for the facility to be shut down and also reported an ant problem while he stayed at the facility, among many other issues. Douwes said he was appalled at the state of the hotel and spoke out because he doesn t want anyone else to go through what he did. He said the lobby, corridor outside his room and the room were dirty.
