Javid Dehghan Khalad was put to death early in the morning in the restive southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, Mizan Online reported.
Iran hanged a man for murder, abduction, and âterroristâ links on Saturday, the judiciaryâs website said, despite international calls for the execution of the ethnic Baluch to be halted.
It comes a day after the United Nations had appealed to Iran not to go ahead with the execution of the 31-year-old.
Mizan said Dehghan was arrested in June 2015 and later convicted of being âone of the leadersâ of a âterroristâ group linked to the jihadist Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice).

The U.S. Mission to South Africa, under the auspices of the Office of the Regional Refugee Coordinator, is pleased to announce the availability of a funding opportunity through the 2021 Julia Taft Fund for Refuge.
The Julia Taft Fund for Refugees is an initiative by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) to respond to critical unmet needs of refugees. Created in 2000, the Julia Taft Fund for Refugees supports projects that fill gaps in refugee services not already being addressed by other organizations and that can be filled locally. Successful projects are those that are not being addressed by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), other international organizations, or non-governmental organizations (NGOs), that are already receiving U.S. government funding.

Numerous NGOs and media organizations, such as Global Witness and The Guardian, conduct extensive research and reporting on the killings and human rights abuses of environmental defenders. Even though the role of global corporations’ are gaining attention, domestic and international law are falling behind, hindering the possibility of holding corporations accountable.
