SPD Detective Kevin Krieb Honored Feb 27, 2021 at 08:42 pm by WGNS (SMYRNA, TN)   Detective Kevin Krieb with Smyrna Police Department (SPD) is the recipient of the Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement.  The award was presented by United States Attorney Don Cochran. Detective Krieb began his career in law enforcement as an officer with Vanderbilt University Police Department.  He joined the Smyrna Police Department in 2002.  Beginning in patrol, he worked his way through the SPD ranks, serving as a DARE officer, narcotics detective, DEA task force officer, and was recently promoted to Detective Sergeant of Narcotics. Tuesday evening, December 29, 2020 State COVID-19 Cases Up After Holiday Lull The state saw another spike in COVID-19 cases Tuesday following a slowdown in testing over the holiday. Health officials reported 2,736 news cases and 16 deaths including a Salt Lake County resident younger than 45-years-old. About a quarter of all tests come back positive, which suggests community transmission remains high. The state has also been vaccinating an average of about 1,300 people a day since the state received its first doses earlier this month. More than 20,000 people have been vaccinated so far.
