On Feb 2, the State Administrative Council recently appointed NayPyiTaw Council Chairman and 12  Chairmans of Region or State Administrative Council. The State Administrative Council announced on Feb 2 that it has appointed a new chairman with  5 new members of the Union Election Commission. U Than Nyein was newly appointed as chairman of the Central Bank, according to  the  announcement  of the State Administrative Council on Feb 2.

Chaired by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Sen-Gen Min Aung Hlaing, the council is comprised of 10 other members including Vice-Senior General Soe Win as deputy chair, the Xinhua news agency reported.
