Jaime A. Davidson was in prison for nearly 30 years for one of upstate New York s most notorious crimes. Political connections appear to have set him free. Among the dozens of pardons and commutations former President Donald Trump issued before leaving office, one name has left some law enforcement officials reeling: Jaime Davidson, notorious in upstate New York for planning a 1990 robbery that ended in the murder of a police officer.

After spending nearly 30 years in prison for his role in the murder of a Syracuse Police Officer, Jaime Davidson was released by President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

He had Alice Marie Johnson.
Johnson, famously championed by reality TV star Kim Kardashian, took on Jaime Davidson’s case this fall, fast-tracking his request for a sentence commutation to President Donald Trump’s desk. Davidson also got an assist from a white-collar criminal defense lawyer who has represented members and associates of the Trump family.
