A second victim, a 22-year-old man, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Jersey City Medical Center.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.

Woman asleep in car is kidnapped, sexually assaulted in North Bergen: prosecutor

A New York woman who was asleep in her car in Union City was sexually assaulted after her attacker jumped into the vehicle and drove her into North Bergen, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
The 26-year-old told authorities that she was resting in the running vehicle that was parked in the midtown area of Kennedy Boulevard in Union City when she was kidnapped, the prosecutor said.
She awoke to the man sexually assaulting her at approximately 10:30 p.m., the prosecutor said. The assailant fled the scene, which the prosecutor’s office described as downtown North Bergen.

A burned body was discovered at the site of a reported brush fire in West New York early Wednesday morning, officials said.
West New York police officers reported a brush fire after 1 a.m. behind the West New York Swim Club, in the area of 60th Street, JFK Boulevard East and Anthony M Defino Way, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
After members of the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Department extinguished the fire, the burned remains of a person were discovered, who was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

A body was recovered after a brushfire in West New York, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
On April 7, at approximately 1:25 a.m., members of the West New York Police Department reported a brushfire behind the West New York Swim Club in the area of 60th Street, JFK Boulevard East and Anthony M. Defino Way.
The North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Department extinguished the fire. After it was placed under control, investigators found the burned remains of a human who has not yet been identified.
