Back in January, the county hosted a pop-up vaccine clinic at Harry Williams Community Center where they served more than 500 veterans.
On
Saturday, March 27th, another 800 vaccines will be available at the community center, the county announced Monday.
Melinda Kane, Camden County Commissioner Melinda Kane who works with the Office of Veterans Affairs, tells Patch.com, Last month s pop-up vaccination clinic was incredibly successful and got vaccines into the arms of roughly 590 area veterans. We are extremely thankful for our partners at the VA for making it possible to provide a second round of appointments and to continue providing these services to men and women who served their country. As our community gets closer to returning to a pre-pandemic state, getting these heroes protected is vitally important.

To facilitate an increase in transfer enrollment of Black, Hispanic and non-traditional students, Texas State and Austin Community College (ACC) have partnered in the Equity Transfer Initiative, a grant-based initiative that will support resources and expand learning pathways for underrepresented student populations.
The two-year initiative will provide $27,500 in assistance to both Texas State and ACC, the only two Texas institutions to receive the grant. There are five transfer pathways for students participating in the program, including education, computer science, nursing, business and engineering.
At least 100 students will embark upon one of the five transfer pathways during the first year of the program. By the second year, the number of students will increase to 300 or more.

Veterans from N.J. to get COVID vaccine at pop-up clinics
Updated Jan 29, 2021;
That’s why a pair of South Jersey pop-up clinics are being set up this weekend to vaccinate eligible veterans.
The two clinics, one in Runnemede in Camden County and the other in Rio Grande in Cape May County, seek to vaccinate about 500 veterans each on Saturday.
“We realize that 588 doses is not an enormous number, but for those veterans and their families, it has a huge impact,” Camden County Commissioner Melinda Kane, liaison to the Office of Veterans Affairs, told NJ Advance Media.
Camden County is acting as the host facility, providing its Harry Williams Community Center as a vaccine site, while the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia will be administering the vaccines from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. They are not accepting any more patients as all the vaccines are spoken for.
