Interim CEO appointed for Office for Environmental Protection
Natalie Prosser has been appointed by Defra as the Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Designate of the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP).
She was confirmed in this post in agreement with the Chair-designate of the OEP, Dame Glenys Stacey, and the appointment was approved by the Civil Service Commission.
Natalie is currently General Counsel at the Gambling Commission. Her previous roles have included Director of Legal at Ofqual and regulatory and policy lead on the independent Farm Inspection and Regulation Review.
She will start her role in February alongside Dame Glenys. The role of the Interim CEO is time limited until December and will be focussed on setting up the new body pending the appointment of a permanent CEO.

A new independent regulator tasked with ensuring the Government upholds environmental standards will be based in Worcester, a minister has announced.
Environment Minister Rebecca Pow told MPs the Government has decided the West Midlands city âwill be an excellent location for the headquartersâ of the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP).
But Labour MP Kerry McCarthy (Bristol East) branded the decision âinexplicableâ after claiming she had been told âon more than one occasionâ by ministers that the new body would be based in Bristol, creating 120 jobs.
A NEW independent environmental watchdog will be based in the city, it has been revealed. The Office for Environmental Protection, which has been set up as an independent regulatory body following the UK s withdrawal from the European Union, will be based in Worcester. Environment minister Rebecca Pow made the announcement in the House of Commons on Tuesday (January 26). I d like to take the opportunity to provide the House with an update on the OEP. We want to ensure that this is located in a good, long-term place and, trust me, there are quite a lot of contenders. And upon considering wider locations, we have decided that Worcester will be an excellent location for the headquarters of the OEP.
