A Long Branch science teacher was arrested on Tuesday morning and charged with endangering the welfare of a child after investigators said he went online to try to exploit underage boys.
Jesse Rosenbaum, 65, a teacher at Long Branch Middle School, was soliciting underage males online to participate in sexual acts and sexual conversation, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said.
Prosecutors said Rosenbaum, who goes by Mr. R in school, was communicating with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old male via sexually explicit emails, text messages and phone conversations. Rosenbaum was in fact communicating with an undercover detective in Mercer County.

A Florida nurse has been arrested for sexually assaulting a patient under his care at a local hospital, Citrus County Sheriff s office said.
The police arrested 57-year-old Hiram Bonilla of Tampa on lewd and lascivious charges. Bonilla was taken into custody Tuesday. A staff member at a Citrus county hospital reported the incident on Jan. 6.
The victim told the deputy who responded to the complaint that a registered nurse had entered her room in Citrus Memorial Hospital and engaged in sexual activity with her on several occasions on Jan. 5 and 6, said a news release from the sheriff s office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit has arrested a Jersey City man, 63, on charges that he sexually assaulted a boy, 11, in his care.
According to the HCPO, Jersey City resident has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the second degree, and Sexual Assault, a crime of the second degree.
Law enforcement arrested Rueda on Jan. 6, at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
The HCPO has filed a motion for detention pending trial which is scheduled to be heard on Jan. 12.

Leon Rueda, 63, of Jersey City, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault, both second-degree crimes.
Rueda was arrested on Wednesday, January 6th at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion for detention pending trial which will be heard on Tuesday, January 12th.
Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.

A Jersey City man was charged with child abuse for burning his niece and nephew, ages 6 and 9, with a cigarette lighter, authorities said Tuesday.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Dec. 28 got a tip from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency alleging two Jersey City children were being abused, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
The investigation found that 21-year-old Jaimear Butler had physically abused a 9-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl by intentionally burning their bodies with a cigarette lighter, Suarez said.
It was not clear how Butler knew the children.
