Putin s visit to Pakistan not yet scheduled

Putin’s visit to Pakistan ‘not yet scheduled’ July 6, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office said on Monday though Pakistan and Russia had extended invitations to each other for summit-level visits, no such visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin was on schedule so far. “While invitations for visits at the summit-level have been extended by both sides, no such visit has been scheduled yet,” Foreign Office Spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in response to some media reports on the visit of the Russian president during the current month. “Pakistan and Russia are close partners and friends, and consider high-level visits an important part of their growing ties,” he said, adding: “The two sides are committed to building a strong multi-dimensional relationship that not only serves their respective national interests, but also contribute to regional and global peace.”

Afghan assertion of denying TTP presence rejected

Afghan assertion of denying TTP presence rejected June 29, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Monday rejected Kabul’s assertion that the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) did not operate on Afghan soil. “The assertions of the Afghan side are contrary to facts on ground and various reports of the United Nations, which also corroborate the presence and activities of over 5,000 strong TTP in Afghanistan,” Foreign Office Spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in a statement.A day earlier the Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs had said the TTP was neither founded in Afghanistan nor did it operate on its soil. The statement was issued after Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said Islamabad was expecting the Afghan Taliban will not allow terrorist groups such as the TTP to carry out activities against Pakistan.
