Lenoir County murder suspect turns self in after search

A man turned himself in to officials Monday night after being accused of murder just one day prior.
According to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, detectives served a warrant on Rashawn Shareef Pridgen, who was allegedly involved in the shooting death of 27-year-old Jalen Jamal Johnson of Grifton that occurred Sunday afternoon in La Grange.
Pridgen turned himself in to authorities Monday, Feb. 1, at approximately 7 p.m. He was confined in the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and was given no bond pending his first appearance in court.
Officers said 33-year old Michael Stover received about 60 pills with a cumulative weight of five grams.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. A St. Johns County criminal defense attorney has been arrested on a drug charge after being accused of accepting prescription amphetamine Adderall in exchange for legal services.
Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, with assistance from the Tri-County Narcotics Task Force and the Florida Highway Patrol, arrested Michael Stover, 33, on Thursday.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Deputies say an inmate at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center is under investigation after he started a fire with a lighter in his cell on Monday night. Authorities say 23-year-old Markel Anthony Atkinson, who is is being housed at the detention center for a murder charge, also got into an altercation with two officers who were trying to restrain him. According to deputies, Atkinson has been charged with two counts of contraband, two counts of assault and one count of arson.
Authorities say that detention center officers were able to put out the fire before the Sumter Fire Department arrived at the scene. Officers say inmates in the housing area were evacuated due to the smoke, but later returned without issue.
In accordance with policy, Sheriff Rick Ramsay has asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate.
Sheriffâs spokesman Adam Linhardt said he cannot comment on the investigation at this time and any questions should be directed to the FDLE.
A Belle Chasse man who formerly taught in Plaquemines and Jefferson Parish public schools was arrested Wednesday on charges of video voyeurism involving juveniles and child pornography, state authorities said.Â
Bradley Kiff, 33, who had most recently been employed by the Plaquemines Parish school system, was booked with two counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, three counts of video voyeurism involving victims under 17, one count of video voyeurism and two counts of pornography involving juveniles, the Louisiana Attorney General s Office said in a news release.
Bradley Kiff, 33, of Belle Chasse, was booked on video voyeurism and child pornography charges, authorities said.
