One man died and another was injured in a Plainfield shooting over the weekend, authorities said.

PLAINFIELD - A Dunellen man has died and a Piscataway man was seriously injured in a Sunday afternoon shooting in the area of West Eighth Street and Grant Avenue.
Michael Price Jr., 29, was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday after being transported to Hackensack Meridian Health JFK University Medical Center in Edison, according to acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Plainfield Police Director Lisa Burgess.
A preliminary investigation indicates members of the Plainfield Police Department responding to the area of West Eighth Street and Grant Avenue Sunday afternoon where they found Price and a second man, a 30-year-old resident of Piscataway, who had both been struck by gunfire.

One man was killed and another man was seriously injured in a double shooting Sunday afternoon in Plainfield, authorities said.
Michael Price Jr., 29, of Dunellen, was shot near the corner of West Eighth Street and Grant Avenue, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said Monday.
Price was brought to JFK Medical Center in Edison, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday. A 30-year-old Piscataway man is in critical but stable condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Additional information about the shooting wasn’t immediately available.
