Four Suspects, Including Two Juveniles, Charged In Home Invasion

18-year-old Zachariah Canterbury of Taylorsville and 18-year-old Christopher Dalton Whorley of Seminole, Florida, were arrested Sunday (December 27) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. Both suspects are charged with felony counts of common law robbery and first degree burglary. There are two 17-year-old juveniles also charged in this case.
On Saturday (December 26) at approximately 10:30 p.m. officers with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and Taylorsville Police Department responded to a residence on Gravel Hill Court in reference to shots being fired. Upon arrival officers discovered that three individuals forced their way into a residence occupied by a 17-year-old and his parents.

STONY POINT, N.C. Police in North Carolina say that an 8-year-old child has died after being struck in the chest by “a single shot from a BB or pellet gun.”
The Hickory Daily Record reports that the incident occurred Sunday near a family’s home in Stony Point.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the shooting appears to be accidental.
Initial findings from the investigation indicate that two juveniles, ages 8 and 7, were shooting a BB gun and a pellet rifle at targets when the 8-year-old was struck.

Police say the 8-year-old, who was identified as a boy by WBTV, was playing with a 7-year-old at a shooting range near the family home using a BB gun and a Pellet rifle.
The unidentified boy had been hit in the chest from a single shot from a BB or Pellet gun, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

It is unclear what led up to the child getting shot, but police say early investigations appear to indicate the incident was accidental. However, the investigation remains ongoing.

An 8-year-old boy died Sunday after he was accidentally shot with a BB or pellet gun while playing with another child in North Carolina, according to authorities.
The incident occurred Sunday at a home in the Stony Point community, located about 55 miles north of Charlotte, according to a news release by the Alexander County Sheriff s Office. Upon arrival officers discovered that an 8-year-old child was struck in the chest with a single shot from a BB or pellet gun, the release said.
The unidentified child was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital for evaluation before he was transported to Brenner s Children s hospital in Winston Salem. During transport, the child went into cardiac arrest and was diverted to Davey Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, according to the sheriff s office.
