Alexander County Man Sentenced To Prison Time Following Plea Agreement

A Taylorsville man received a minimum prison sentence of more than five years after reaching a plea agreement on Monday (April 26) in Alexander County Superior Court. 56-year-old Perry Randall Miller received the prison sentence after being convicted of possession of firearm by a felon and trafficking in methamphetamine.
Miller was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on June 19, 2020. At the time of the arrest, Miller was on probation. He was arrested in connection to an investigation in which a home was searched in the Wittenburg community on Shorty Miller Road. Authorities identified it as Miller’s home. At the time, the defendant was on active probation for armed robbery.

23-year-old Jarbas Harrison Dealmeida of Wilmington was arrested Sunday (April 25) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged in Alexander County with felony counts of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Hiddenite location after they received a report of a breaking and entering at a residence. A number of items had been stolen during the crime. The investigation resulted in Jarbas Harrison Dealmeida being developed as a suspect.

It’s been approximately three-and-a-half months since a woman was shot to death at a Hickory business, and the Hickory Police Department along with other area law enforcement agencies are continuing to seek a pair of suspects wanted in that case. A national manhunt was also launched for 49-year-old Tangela Louise Parker and 61-year-old Eric Carroll Parker, both of Taylorsville. They’re wanted in connection to the murder of Phelifa Michelle Marlow on January 13.

Hickory Woman Charged In Alexander County With Having Drugs At Jail

38-year-old Audrey Leann James of Hickory was arrested Friday (April 16) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises along with counts of failure to appear for misdemeanor larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
James was initially taken into custody on the failure to appear warrants. During the booking process, James was charged with the possession of a controlled substance on jail premises count. She was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under $8,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (April 21). District Court dates are scheduled for May 3 and May 10.
