Five months after it began, the search for Milwaukee s police chief is still on hold. But it appears the Fire and Police Commission is taking steps to get it back on track.
MILWAUKEE - Five months after it began, the search for Milwaukee s police chief is still on hold but it appears the city s Fire and Police Commission (FPC) is taking steps to get it back on track.
The FPC met in an executive session at the city attorney s office Thursday night, Jan. 21 regarding the lawsuit from former Chief Alfonso Morales.

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee cold case detectives are following up on new trips related to the 2002 disappearance of Alexis Patterson a 7-year-old girl last seen walking to school.
It has been 19 years since the police department first started handing out pictures of Patterson in hopes of someone recognizing her. They still pass out her photo, continuing to try to figure out what happened.

Patterson was last seen May 3, 2002, when she walked to first grade at Hi-Mount Community School in Milwaukee with Bourgeois. She was 7 years old.
LaRon Bourgeois She was upset that day because today is her snack day but she hadn t been too good with her homework, so we didn t let her take her snacks, Bourgeois said.
Her stepfather said goodbye, and that was the last time anyone would see Alexis Patterson. She never showed up for class.
In the days that followed, police went door-to-door, asking people whether they d seen the missing girl. Still, there was no sign of her.
Stepfather of Alexis Patterson dies from suspected overdose
The death appears to be the result of an overdose, according to the medical examiner.
Investigators say she was on her way to Hi-Mount Community School when she disappeared.
Bourgeois said he last saw her crossing the street toward the school. Share this article:
