Quinton man arrested after amphetamine lab raid

The drugs lab uncovered during a raid near Redditch A MAN from Quinton was one of five arrested after an industrial-scale amphetamine lab was discovered near Redditch. The National Crime Agency (NCA) and Warwickshire Police raided the lab, located in farm buildings on Ullenhall Lane, near Redditch, earlier today (Tuesday, April 27). It is believed the crime group involved were producing around one tonne of amphetamine per month – worth £2million at wholesale and up to £10million at street level – for distribution to criminals throughout the country. Two men aged 40 and 60, believed to be running the drugs operation, were arrested in Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire.

FIVE arrests have been made after an industrial-scale amphetamine lab was discovered near Redditch.  The National Crime Agency (NCA) and Warwickshire Police raided the lab, located in farm buildings on Ullenhall Lane, near Redditch, earlier today (Tuesday, April 27). It is believed the crime group involved were producing around one tonne of amphetamine per month – worth £2million at wholesale and up to £10million at street level – for distribution to criminals throughout the country. Two men aged 40 and 60, believed to be running the drugs operation, were arrested in Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire.  A third man, aged 50, from Quinton, Birmingham, who is suspected of operating the lab, was apprehended at his home address.

BBC News By Tom Symonds Published A suspected £10m amphetamine laboratory has been uncovered during a police raid. The large-scale operation was found in outbuildings near Redditch, Worcestershire. The investigation began after text messages were obtained by French police during the penetration of the encrypted phone network Encrochat last year. Vats and sacks of ingredients were found in the lab, which is currently too hazardous for police to enter. Five people have been arrested in the joint operation between the National Crime Agency and Warwickshire Police on Tuesday. Firefighters and a chemicals expert were drafted in to assist with the raid.
