GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - The âSafe Summer Kickoffâ event hosted by Tidelands Health kicks off this weekend.
Pediatricians will be at the event to answer questions.
Dr. Lucretia Carter, Tidelands Health pediatric medical director, said some of the most common questions sheâs hearing include what are the side effects, what parents can expect and how long it lasts.
Carter said physicians donât know long it lasts but time will tell.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Tidelands Health is hosting a family vaccination event this weekend as COVID-19 vaccine eligibility extends to children 12 years and older.
The “Safe Summer Kickoff” event will be held at Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, a press release from Tidelands Health stated.

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - Tidelands Health says many of its employees had to travel to several stations to find gas on their way to work due to the regional gas shortage.
Fortunately, officials say there is a contingency plan in place for situations just like this.
“When these things happen, we all realize how dependent we are on deliveries and transports and things like that,” said Gayle Resetar, Chief Operating Officer for Tidelands Health.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Despite outcry from some residents, the Horry County Planning Commission unanimously voted to approve a rezoning request for Tidelands Health.
This brings Tidelands Health one step closer to building a new hospital in the Socastee area. The proposed site is located off Highway 707 and Highway 31, near residential communities.
During the planning commission meeting, leaders heard arguments from both sides. One resident stated heâs in favor of Tidelands Health opening up a new hospital because it will help to save more lives during emergency situations.
