Biden: Parts of US are backsliding into the days of Jim Crow Naomi Lim © Provided by Washington Examiner Some parts of the United States are backsliding into enforced racial segregation, says President Joe Biden, ramping up his attacks on election laws in several states he claims infringe on voter access. “Parts of our country are backsliding into the days of Jim Crow, passing laws that harken back to the era of poll taxes, when black people were made to guess how many jelly beans in a jar or count the number of bubbles in a bar of soap before they could cast their ballot, Biden told Al Sharpton s National Action Network.

Human Rights Council unless it “acknowledged” its racial “failures.” “We have to acknowledge that we are an imperfect union and have been since the beginning,” Thomas-Greenfield said.

14 Apr 2021 U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN) on Wednesday that “the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.” Thomas-Greenfield addressed the NAN’s 30th annual summit, praising Sharpton for a “lifetime of activism” and thanking him for “never backing down.” She did not mention Sharpton’s history of antisemitic, racist, and homophobic rhetoric, or his role in inciting riots against Jews. Instead, Thomas-Greenfield recited a familiar theme from Critical Race Theory, which holds that America was founded upon white supremacy, and that racism infects all of America’s institutions as a result.

Lewis Morris: Biden s Judicial Remake Begins — The Patriot Post

President Joe Biden has released his first group of judicial nominees this week, and just like with his cabinet picks, he has proven that ethnic and gender diversity is the most important qualifier for the job. Well, that and hard-left progressivism. The three appellate court nominees are black women, including federal trial judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit left by Merrick Garland, who is now attorney general. Jackson was appointed to the federal bench by Barack Obama in 2013 and is already rumored to be a top candidate for the Supreme Court. The DC Circuit is often a stepping stone to the High Court, and Biden has already promised that he will nominate a black woman if 82-year-old Justice Stephen Bryer buckles to demands that he retire. Other appellate judge nominees include Candace Jackson-Akiwumi for the Seventh Circuit and Tiffany Cunningham for the Federal Circuit. Both women are currently in private practice.
