ALBANY – Five more people tested positive for COVID Albany County announced Saturday as it also promoted vaccine availability at eight regional vaccine clinics in an effort to stop the spread of the virus. Clinics are being held this week in Albany, Wynantskill and Melrose.
As of Saturday, 76 percent of the adults in Albany County had received at least one vaccine dose. Anyone age 12 or older is eligible for the vaccine.

ALBANY, N.Y. â Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy provided the latest update on the progress being made in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday.
McCoy confirmed that as of Thursday, 61.3% of Albany Countyâs population has received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 53.6% have been fully vaccinated. The first dose vaccination rate for the countyâs 18+ population is at 72.2%, with 52.8% fully vaccinated.
Those figures rate ahead of the statewide percentages, which show the first dose vaccination rate at 52.8%, and full vaccination rate of 44.8%. Albany County has administered or reallocated 68,321 first and second doses of the vaccine to date.
